Kundalini Yoga & Meditation

Temple Yoga teaches Kundalini Yoga Kriyas, Pranayama Breath, Meditations, Chanting & Sacred Sound Healing. Kundalini Yoga is also known as the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul.

Kundalini Yoga is for everyone

Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for householders, for people who have to cope with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. It is a path for everyone who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of our times. Kundalini Yoga & it’s teachings are shared with an intention, it will provide tools & help prepare humanity for the major changes that this planet is going through as we cross from the Piscean to the Aquarian Age. The ancient technology of Kundalini Yoga gives us the awareness and the fortitude to make this a smooth transition.

Instrument of the soul

In this practise we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and put them under the domain of the will, which is the instrument of the soul. This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purifiy the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul. When we apply the technology of Kundalini Yoga to our bodies and minds, it has the effect of uplifting the spirit. It is for everyone, it is universal.

“It is my honour & my privilege to share these teachings with you & the magic that they hold. Together stepping forward with Open Hearts, and living lives with Truth & Grace & Happiness. “

Preparing for Kundalini Yoga Class & Enhance your Experience

Arrive to class with enough time to settle yourself and arrive in the space, with a short relaxation, and / or gentle stretching. Practice on the empty stomach. Ideally avoid eating at least 2 hours before a yoga class. Alcohol and drugs should not be consumed within at least 24 hours of the yoga class (before and after) Take a shower before, if possible, especially in the morning. Yoga is practised bare footed as it maximises the flow of energy.

Before we start

Wear loose white or light clothing (if possible), and natural fabrics. White is the best as it contains all the colours of the universe, it is a neutral colour and it extends your auric radiance by at least one foot in every direction. Your aura is the energy of your electromagnetic field. A strong aura gives you a strong and solid identity and projection, and negative influences are automatically filtered. There is a lot of energy in the hair. Ideally tie long hair up and out of the way (preferably into a simple knot at the top of your crown chakra) as this will enable to balance body’ energy as the hair regulates the inflow of sun energy into the body system. It also energises your electromagnetic field and stimulates the pineal gland in the centre of your brain. If you want to have a deeper experience use head covering. You can use a long natural fabric scarf to tie up a turban for holding the energy in throughout the practice and help to create a meditative focus at the third eye point. Covering the head turban style also stabilises the 26 parts of the brain, which are interlocked with neurological system and electromagnetic field, giving your automatic cranial adjustment.

During the class

Have a bottle of water with you to drink. Be mindful of postures and breathing, challenge yourself but do not force or exceed your limitations, listen closely to yourself, and honour your experience. Use a shawl/ light blanket to cover yourself during relaxation and meditation. Wearing white, taking care of your hair, and covering your head with natural white cloth are all powerful techniques that can elevate your experience. Be sure there is no medical reason why you should not do yoga or consult your GP or health professional before starting. Always listen to your own body, keep breathing as instructed and enjoy the experience!

Mantras To Tune In & To End Our Practice

When we attend a Kundalini Yoga class or practice at home, always tune in with a mantra called the ADI MANTRA. There is also a second (optional) mantra called the MANGALA CHARAN MANTRA that expands our radiant body and protective space. Both mantras also feature in a number of meditations and can be chanted any time we may feel like reciting and vibrating them. They both have powerful properties.

We close with singing Long Time Sun… for Self-blessing and then chant Sat Nam 3 times.
